Fazl Ali College (FAC), Mokokchung, celebrated World Earth Day on 22nd April 2023 by organizing a program on the benefits of bamboo and how to plant bamboo which was initiated by the Eco Club of FAC.
C Imli Jamir, Executive Member, Land Donors Association, FAC speaking as the resource person explained about the benefits of bamboo planting. He also enlightened the students on how to plant bamboo stumps and in what season. After the formal session, the entire group also participated in planting bamboo.
In the program, Rev Lima Lemtur, Pastor, Union Church FAC campus pronounced an invocation followed by an exposition by Dr Temjensangla Pongener, Convener, Eco Club, FAC and a brief exhortation by Dr I Wati Imchen, Principal, FAC.
Lipokyanger Lemtur, publicity officer, Eco Club, FAC informed that it was a very educational session, with the eco club members engaging in physical activities and learning about the benefits and dos and don’ts while planting bamboo.
